Churchill Hotel Launches OpenKey for Mobile Key Technology Partner
Historic Washington, D.C. hotel offers leading digital key provider for advanced access solution
DALLAS AND WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 10, 2017) – The historic Churchill Hotel near Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., has announced the implementation of OpenKey to provide its guests with mobile key entry to their rooms, remote check-in capabilities and more. Since its inception in 2014, OpenKey has become the industry standard for providing universal mobile key access to the hospitality industry.
“The Churchill is a historic hotel that combines tech-savvy amenities with boutique hotel environment that offers personalized service,” said General Manager Noori Janjani. “We take great pride in delivering a memorable hotel experience, tailored to each guest’s needs, and the addition of the OpenKey app is a perfect complement to our guest experience.”
The classic hotel has been a historic landmark on Connecticut Avenue for 110 years. While maintaining its pre-war aesthetic and overall charm, the property recently underwent a series of updates including the addition of modern amenities such as OpenKey mobile key technology. Through an easy-to-use app on their smartphone, guests can notify the hotel of their early or late arrival, skip the front desk by checking-in prior to arrival, and obtain their room key and hotel wireless access password.
“We are excited to add Churchill Hotel to our growing portfolio of OpenKey properties nationwide, and provide keyless room access to their guests in Washington D.C.,” said Brian Shedd, VP of Sales and Marketing at OpenKey. “OpenKey’s technology provides independent hotels like the Churchill with significant competitive advantages like remote check-in, secure keyless access, guest data to drive direct bookings and improved guest satisfaction.”
OpenKey recently released version 4.0.1 of its mobile app, which is now available to all Churchill hotel guests. It includes a two-step authentication for additional security, as well as an upgraded user interface.
The app is available to download in the iOS App and Google Play stores and works with Bluetooth (BLE) enabled locks from the largest global lock manufacturers.
