Winners to Be Celebrated at Gala Event on October 21 in Barcelona, Spain
PLANO, TX – August 14, 2017 – OpenKey, the industry standard for universal mobile key in hotels, was named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the Mobile Site and App categories in the 14th Annual International Business Awards today.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet at the W Hotel in Barcelona, Spain on October 21.
Described by one judge as “Easy to use for both hotels and guests,” the OpenKey app enables hotel owners to easily manage the guest experience through control of guest room access and ability to use their smartphone for keyless entry to their room. It also provides important information such as room number, check-in and out dates, as well as a convenient satisfaction survey following the guest stay.
Hotel guests experience a simple, fast and intuitive app on their end. Users can skip the front desk and go straight to their room, receive stay information 24 hours prior to arrival, receive a notification when their room is ready, save time while traveling and most importantly – use their phone as the room key.
The app, based off flexible software, works with any PMS system, decreases group check-in time, features an easy to use interface, provides on-site training and 24/7 support, as well as detailed reports. The OpenKey app is currently implemented in hotels in eight countries on four continents around the world.
“We’re honored OpenKey’s innovative and disruptive solution was recognized for the design behind our mobile website and app,” Jon Alsup, Vice President of Product at OpenKey said. “Hotels are adopting new technology every day to accommodate the more tech-savvy guests who are quickly influencing the travel industry as we know it. OpenKey is one more step in the right direction for the inherently mobile and social world we live in.”
Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 executives worldwide who participated on 12 juries.
“The IBA judges from across the world were highly impressed with the nominations they reviewed this year. With the level of achievement documented in the nominations from 60 nations, the Stevie Awards are proud to honor organizations that demonstrate a high level of achievement in a variety of industries” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “We look forward to sharing many of these stories with people around the world over the coming months, through the Stevie Awards blog and social media channels, with the hope to inspire others to high achievement.”
